From their factory in Ashburton, health company KiwiCorp Products Limited provides a range of skin and health care goods, including a variety of nutritive supplementary food powders.
For Director Paul Huang, who has been involved in the company since late 2019, supplementary foods tend to be in pretty high demand, whether the economy is in good shape or bad, and it’s important that customers get the best out of what KiwiCorp has to offer.
“[We go] down to the basics, make sure we do the right things, create value to our client, and in return they will create value back to us.”
“If they [customers] are successful, then we will be successful.”
Nutrients in every good
Huang says he sources KiwiCorp’s dairy locally, using whole milk powder and skin milk powder from the likes of Fonterra, Westland Milk Products, and Open Country Dairy.
From there, a detailed manufacturing process occurs, with Huang saying KiwiCorp follows strict industry standards. The end result, according to Huang, are many products which each contain precise and strong nutritional value.
It’s also possible for KiwiCorp to trace each product back to the exact date and time it was packed using serial numbers, with the company being able to check in on incoming ingredients and how the products are prepared in detail.
Huang notes that while the business is currently around 80% export driven, and 20% sales within New Zealand, he is seeing greater and greater demand within NZ for KiwiCorp’s nutritional goods.
“In the dairy industry, we are under such rigorous regulations… it gives consumers peace of mind that it is made in New Zealand.”
Why KiwiCorp is NZ Made
For Huang, being a New Zealand made company is vital because of the positive mindset that consumers generally have towards kiwi products. With dairy being a major industry in New Zealand, Huang says that NZ made goods carry a lot of weight in the market, and KiwiCorp wouldn’t want to miss out on that.
“The mind share of New Zealand made products is that they are clean and well-reputed… Being a New Zealand made product carries miles, obviously we want to be part of that and make sure we are delivering what NZ made is meant to deliver.”
