A Kiwi Original - Shane Rhodes | Aspiring Safety
Aspiring Safety is a manufacturer of recreational and industrial height safety equipment. Whether it's caving, canyoning, climbing, performance, rope access, or working at heights, Aspiring is sure to have the gear to have you safe and covered.
Aspiring was originally formed in 1980 to make climbing harnesses, which at the time was expensive and cumbersome. The business expanded during the 1980s to manufacture outdoor equipment for climbing, tramping, and caving. During the 90’s the company evolved to make harnesses in the industrial world as well as a large number of custom harnesses for the ever expanding and evolving adventure tourism and performance sectors.
Shane Rhodes would eventually take over the business, and after weathering the storm of Covid-19, he remains optimistic for where the business will go next as the country opens up more to adventure tourism.
